Mack Trucks has introduced the all-new Mack Anthem, a reimagined truck designed for regional hauling with a focus on better maneuverability, enhanced fuel efficiency, and driver comfort.
“The transportation sector is changing swiftly, with fleet managers contending with increasing operational costs, complex logistics, and ongoing recruitment challenges for drivers,” stated Stephen Roy, global president of Mack Trucks. “The Anthem leverages many technologies and design concepts we used for our new Pioneer long-haul model, bringing cutting-edge innovations to the regional-haul market.”
The Anthem is the second vehicle released by Mack in 2025, following the launch of the Pioneer model.
“The all-new Anthem signifies a major advancement for both Mack and the regional-haul sector,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “It retains the same name as its predecessor because it reflects the same core values and attributes, yet it vastly improves across all areas.”
Enhanced Fuel Efficiency
The new Anthem boasts a fuel efficiency improvement of up to 10% over the previous model, according to Mack Trucks.
This model targets fleets involved in:
- Food and beverage distribution;
- Dry bulk operations;
- Bulk transportation (fuel, chemicals, food-grade products);
- General freight services; and
- Less-than-truckload (LTL) operations.
Improved Maneuverability
A standout aspect of the new Anthem is its superior maneuverability. This has been achieved by reducing the bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) length to 113.5 inches, down from the Pioneer’s 125.5 inches. This 12-inch decrease allows for easier navigation in tight spaces and urban settings.
“For maximum fuel efficiency, go with the Pioneer. For unmatched maneuverability, choose the Anthem,” said Fernando Couceiro, vice president of highway trucks at Mack Trucks. “This is a completely new truck, redesigned from the ground up to enhance features that directly benefit our customers.”
Unmatched Comfort and Design
The Anthem is available in day cab, 44-inch sleeper, and 64-inch sleeper configurations, maintaining the same interior cab space as the Pioneer. The redesigned cab offers improved comfort, with an interior that is nine inches wider than the previous model. Notable features include new wide-base seats with optional heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The stand-up sleeper options provide sufficient headroom for drivers to stand comfortably, while premium mattresses and blackout curtains enhance sleeping conditions. Advanced safety measures include an optional digital mirror system, a standard front airbag, and an Integrated Curtain Airbag system for rollover protection.
“In terms of interior design, the new Anthem and the Pioneer share similar dimensions, features, and finishes,” noted Vince Lokers, chief designer at Mack Trucks. “However, the Anthem will not offer the larger sleeper configuration available in the Pioneer.”
Enhanced Connectivity and Uptime
The Anthem incorporates Mack Connect, an advanced telematics platform that provides fleet managers with unprecedented operational insights. The MyMack driver app allows remote adjustments for cab temperature, fluid level monitoring, and tire pressure checks. Over-the-air programming facilitates software updates without needing service visits, and the predictive maintenance system aims to minimize unplanned downtime by 20%. Moreover, when integrated with Mack’s GuardDog Connect, overall downtime is reduced by 37% compared to earlier models.
Availability
The new Mack Anthem will be open for orders starting in August 2025, with production set to begin in January 2026. Mack dealers across the country will offer demonstration models for customer assessments.
