Exciting Racing Night at Grandview Speedway
Saturday night brought thrilling action once again to Grandview Speedway, culminating in three different drivers celebrating victories in the winner’s circle.
Modified Competition
The T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds raced in two 25-lap features. In the first race, Louden Reimert from Oley, Pa., claimed his second victory of the season. The second feature saw Anthony Perrego of Montgomery, N.Y., secure his inaugural Grandview Speedway win, both drivers battling fiercely against Brian Hirthler of Green Lane, Pa., who faced mechanical troubles that hindered his chances in both races.
Sportsman Feature Victory
Jesse Landis from Gilbertsville, Pa., utilized the outside groove to take the lead by the sixth lap during the 25-lap T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman feature. After surviving two late race cautions, Landis raced to victory, marking him as the fifth different winner in the division this season.
Bonus Awards and Race Structure
The winning drivers received additional financial rewards ($300 for Modified and $200 for Sportsman) from T.P. Trailers and Truck Equipment, the division sponsors, as part of the NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts.
First Modified Feature Overview
Mark Gaugler from Boyertown, Pa., initially led the first Modified feature. After a multi-car incident on lap three, Brian Hirthler challenged and claimed the lead on lap six. However, by lap nine, Louden Reimert and Logan Watt rapidly advanced to second and third, respectively, setting the stage for an intense race among the top drivers.
Second Modified Feature Breakdown
The lineup for the second 25-lap Modified feature was adjusted, allowing Hirthler to start on pole. He maintained the lead until mechanical issues forced him to retire. Perrego quickly seized the lead on lap twelve and subsequently pulled away to secure his first victory at Grandview Speedway.
