Grandview Speedway Race Cancellations Due to Rain
This past Saturday, May 23, marked the third occasion in the last five weekends that rain forced the cancellation of racing events at Grandview Speedway. Persistent overnight showers continued into the morning, alongside forecasts predicting more rain throughout the day, leading track management to call off the races.
Exciting Events Scheduled for Next Weekend
While the May 23 program, featuring the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds, Sportsman, and the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars, has been lost to the weather, management is preparing an exciting race night for Saturday, May 30. This special event will highlight T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds racing with two 25-lap feature races, complemented by a full lineup of qualifying events and the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman series, all part of the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts.
Prizes and Bonuses for Twin Features
The two 25-lap features for the Modifieds will offer a $2,000 prize for the winner of each, along with an additional $300 bonus from T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment, totaling $2,300 for each feature winner. Furthermore, if a single driver wins both features, they will receive a $1,000 bonus, potentially yielding a total of $5,600 for sweeping the twin feature program.
Summer Schedule and Admission Details
The May 30 races will start at 7:30 PM, which will become the standard time for the summer season. Pit gates will open at 4 PM, with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 PM and warm-ups starting at 6:30 PM. Admission prices for the Twin 25 program are set at $25 for adults, $10 for students aged 10-15 with ID, and free for children 9 and under. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
Upcoming Match Races
In the coming weeks, popular match races for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman and Modified divisions will return to Grandview Speedway, under the name “The Low Down Throw Down.” The Sportsman match race is scheduled for June 20, followed by the Modified race on July 4.
Prizes and Sponsorship Opportunities
The Low Down Throw Down, organized by Lown Down Entertainment, will feature the top 7 drivers in points and the 3 fastest cars from the hot lap session competing for a $500 first prize. Additional sponsorship money and prizes, including an American Racer tire certificate and a bottle of Inferno Armor, are being sought to enhance the competition.
