Grandview Speedway’s 63rd Anniversary Racing Season Culminates with Freedom 76 Weekend
The 63rd auto racing season at Grandview Speedway is reaching its climax with the highly anticipated Freedom 76 weekend, featuring significant competitions for Modified and Sportsman racers.
The festivities kick off on Friday, September 19, with the 12th annual Freedom 38 Sportsman Championship. The event will adhere to the Freedom 76 racing structure, including qualifying heats, consolation races, the $500 cash dash sponsored by Roy Miller II of Keller Williams Real Estate, and the Patriot 20. This will culminate in the 38-lap Championship feature, alongside practice sessions for 358 Modified drivers hoping to compete in the Freedom 76.
The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman will hold a special 20-lap last chance qualifier before the Freedom 38. In tribute to late promoter Bruce Rogers and the theme of American independence, this will be called the “Patriot 20,” paralleling the previously named “Minuteman 20” for the T.P. Trailer Modifieds.
It’s important to note that only regular Sportsman division drivers are eligible for the Freedom 38; drivers from the Modified division cannot participate. The Friday event will be known as Fans for Five Friday, offering grandstand admission for just $5, with free entry for children aged 9 and under.
On Friday, pit gates open at 3 PM with grandstand gates at 5:30 PM, followed by a driver’s meeting at 5:30 PM and warm-ups at 6:15 PM. Racing action begins at 7:30 PM, with pit admission priced at $40 and no license required. Note that there is no rain date for the Friday events.
Saturday, September 20, will host the 55th annual Freedom 76 for T.P. Trailer 358 Modifieds, featuring qualifying heats, consolation races, and the Schaeffer’s Motorsports Minuteman 20, all leading to the main 76-lap Championship race. An autograph session with 2025 Track Champions Duane Howard and Colin Cox, along with Miss Grandview Katelyn Smith, will take place at 3 PM by the photo stand when Saturday’s grandstand gates open.
Drivers and teams are urged to review the specific rules and entry forms for the Freedom 76 on the Grandview Speedway website. Also, note that all racers must bring their own fuel, as a fuel truck will not be on-site. This weekend promises fierce competition, with both last year’s champions and a host of challengers vying for major prizes.
