Acquisition of Regional Truck Equipment

Jon Sievert, the owner of Casper’s Truck Equipment and a founding member of Fourward Upfitting, along with David Scheitlin, the former director of operations at Holman, have purchased Regional Truck Equipment, which has locations in Addison and Alsip, Illinois.

Expansion into the Chicagoland Area

This acquisition allows Regional Truck Equipment to extend its services into Illinois and the broader Chicagoland region, an area recognized as a key market for commercial truck upfitting in North America. The strategy moving forward is focused on delivering strong local support while also being prepared to meet national fleet requirements as needed, according to the press release.

Local Support and Responsiveness

“Customers need quick local decision-making and direct interaction with knowledgeable individuals,” commented Sievert. “We aim to enhance local responsiveness while also leveraging disciplined national resources when our clients need them. David and I fully support this direction.”

Commitment to Local Fleets

David Scheitlin added, “Our goal is to enhance service for local working fleets while also addressing the national needs of our customers. Speed, flexibility, and efficiency are essential competitive advantages, and we are committed to investing in these areas.”

Preserving Legacy

The company will continue to operate under the Regional Truck Equipment name, a choice made to honor the legacy and reputation established by former owner Brian Lutz and his dedicated team.

Strategic Investments for the Future

According to the announcement, the business will undergo strategic investments in systems, production capacity, and operational capabilities to ensure future growth. Sievert will serve as president, concentrating on sales growth and strategic initiatives, while Scheitlin takes on the role of vice president, focusing on operations at both locations. His responsibilities will include enhancing quality, increasing efficiency, and investing in personnel and systems to optimize capacity and capabilities.
