Commitment to Doing Right

Truck Equipment prioritizes ethical practices for its customers, employees, vendors, and the community. The company employs a “win-win” strategy that ensures all business decisions benefit everyone involved. President Matt Schroeder emphasizes that he and his leadership team carefully consider the moral implications of their choices.

Investing in Workforce

Schroeder states that the company dedicates significant resources to its employees, as they drive its success across various aspects—being diverse and adaptable, process-oriented yet customer-focused, and committed to delivering value while boosting sales and maintaining profit margins.

Recognition for Excellence

With its 70th anniversary approaching and operational capabilities at their peak, Truck Equipment recently earned recognition as the 2025 Trucks, Parts, Service Distributor of the Year Award at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week in Grapevine, Texas. “It’s such an honor to be acknowledged in this industry,” Schroeder stated during the award presentation.

A Legacy of Success

Founded as a service shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 1959, Truck Equipment has demonstrated a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the trucking industry. Its early partnerships, especially with national carrier Schneider, underpin its initial service capabilities, leading to its upfitting business.

Building Strong Relationships

Lynn Schroeder, the company’s founder, emphasizes that the business thrives on strong relationships where mutual benefit is essential. The company has consistently aimed for decisions to be advantageous for both vendors and employees.

Focus on Employee Development

Continuing the family’s legacy, Matt and his siblings prioritize employee engagement and development. They recently partnered with Dignify to enhance their support for employee growth, aiming to identify personal interests and career motivations. This initiative is part of their strategy to maintain a strong company culture.

Looking Ahead

While Truck Equipment doesn’t plan for rapid expansion, Schroeder believes steady growth aligned with company values is crucial. The aim is to cultivate a talented workforce, ensuring that employees gain valuable experiences. He views the Distributor of the Year Award as a validation of their direction and commitment to their core values.
