First Impressions of the DECKED System
I discovered the DECKED system while duck hunting in Oklahoma and was captivated by its organizational capabilities. It featured designated spaces for hunting gear on one side and secure storage for firearms and ammunition on the other. The drawers slid open and closed seamlessly and could be locked for added security. After experiencing rain on the first morning of our hunt, I appreciated how the DECKED system protected our equipment from the weather, proving its durability without a tonneau cover or camper top. Since then, it remained on my mind, and when I purchased my new truck, it was my first accessory choice.
Comprehensive Accessory Pack
The full-size drawer system comes equipped with an accessory pack that includes five trays, two boxes, and two dividers for better organization. The smooth opening and closing of the drawers are facilitated by wheels at the bottom. Additionally, the top deck features four corner access wells with removable covers, with the included storage trays fitting perfectly for extra equipment. D-ring tie-down points located at each corner make it easy to securely stow extra boxes or coolers.
Impressive Weight Capacity
Made from high-density polyethylene, I was excited to find that the deck can support a weight capacity of up to 2,000 pounds. This allows me to transport large quantities of seed and feed bags to my farm easily.
Perfect for Predator Hunting
I seize every opportunity to go predator hunting outside of deer and turkey season, so the DECKED system has become a valuable addition to my truck. It allows me to securely store my expensive gear in the drawers, safely locked behind the tailgate, protecting it from theft and weather elements. This means I can head to the fields at any moment while still enjoying full use of my truck bed.
Drawback of Drawer-Style Systems
Despite their convenience, drawer-style systems do present some drawbacks. The primary concern is that they take up significant space in the truck bed, which can be undesirable. When paired with a tonneau cover, there isn’t enough space left to carry large items securely underneath. Although it’s possible to strap bulky items on top of the deck, this leaves them exposed to the weather and potential theft while traveling.
Compatibility Considerations
It’s important to note that the DECKED system is not compatible with trucks that have a gooseneck hitch. This limitation is something to consider when deciding if this system meets your specific needs.
