Jeffersontown Police have linked a stolen box truck to an ongoing investigation of a theft along Bluegrass Parkway, where significant tools worth thousands of dollars were taken.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — “How’s today been? It’s been challenging,” remarked Matthew Ware.
In recent days, Ware has been preoccupied with worries. His box truck has been missing for four days after being stolen from his workshop on South Second Street.
As the owner of Louisville Lighting and Grip, Ware provides freelance lighting services for commercials and films. His truck contained a significant amount of his equipment.
Just before his conversation with WHAS11, Ware mentioned that his brother discovered the truck in the Wilder Park area, but unfortunately, all of his equipment was missing. “It’s drivable,” he noted, “but it’s not reliable. They really pushed it hard.”
The LMPD is currently looking into the theft of the truck. Jeffersontown Police have revealed that Ware’s stolen vehicle is linked to another case they are investigating, involving stolen tools from a business off Bluegrass Parkway, reported on Thursday. These tools are estimated to be worth between $14,000 and $15,000.
Ware expressed his disappointment over the misuse of his truck to target another business. “In life, when you face adversity, you can either stay down or rise up,” he shared, crediting his resilience to the local film community for their support in sharing his plea for help.
Ware noted that tips from others, even outside the film community, about possible sightings of the truck led his brother to find it. He hopes the information continues to flow so he can recover his equipment and identify those responsible.
If you have any information regarding these two cases, please contact the relevant LMPD or JPD authorities.
