Weather Forces Racing Cancellation at Grandview Speedway
The new racing season at Grandview Speedway kicked off with fantastic weather, featuring warm temperatures in the seventies and low eighties, along with plenty of sunshine. However, April showers eventually made their appearance, leading to the cancellation of the racing program scheduled for Saturday, April 25.
Morning rain already drenched the Berks County area, with forecasts indicating additional rain expected in the afternoon and evening, making it impossible to hold any racing activities on Saturday night.
This marks the first rainout of the season at Grandview, contrasting sharply with last year when only one event was completed in April due to poor weather conditions.
Upcoming Racing Events
Looking ahead, attention is now focused on Saturday, May 2, when the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts will feature races for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and Sportsman divisions, as well as the Keystone Sports Compact Series sponsored by Hoffman Speed Supplies/Hoffman Discount Parts in New Tripoli, PA.
Racers will compete in qualifying events leading up to the 30-lap Modified race, the 25-lap Sportsman race, and the 25-lap feature for the Keystone Sport Compact Series Four Cylinders. Gates will open at 3:30 PM, with race time set for 6:30 PM, and warm-ups scheduled for 5:30 PM.
Admission Details
Admission prices for the event on May 2 are as follows: $20 for adults, $10 for students aged 10-15 with ID, and free entry for children 9 and under. Pit admission will be $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
Special Events on the Horizon
On Saturday, May 9, the Speedway will host its second special event of the season featuring TWIN 25-LAP MODIFIED FEATURES. This evening will also feature a full set of qualifying events leading into the twin features, plus competitions for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman. Admission for this event will be $25 for adults, $10 for students, and free for kids aged 9 and under.
Thunder on the Hill Racing Series
Tickets are available for the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series opener featuring the Kyle Larson/Brad Sweet Interstate Batteries High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series on Tuesday, May 19. Gates for advance ticket holders will open at 4:30 PM, with general admission available from 5 PM. The qualifying heat races will begin at 7:35 PM.
