Truck Parking Club Overview
Truck Parking Club offers a digital platform that links truck drivers with property owners who rent out underused spaces for truck parking on an hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This service aims to alleviate the nationwide truck parking shortage. Pulse 2.0 conducted an interview with Evan Shelley, the co-founder and CEO of Truck Parking Club, to gain further insights.
Evan Shelley’s Background
In discussing his background, Shelley shared that he grew up in rural Kentucky and later moved to Florida to embark on a career in real estate. He participated in numerous residential and commercial land transactions during his time in the industry. He became aware of the truck parking dilemma while evaluating a real estate opportunity that he believed would be ideal for truck parking. Despite its industrial zoning, the local authorities opposed truck parking at that location, which piqued his interest in the issue, leading him to delve deeper into the field.
Company’s Foundation
Regarding how the company was conceived, Shelley noted that the idea stemmed from a prevalent problem voiced by truck drivers: the scarcity of safe, legal parking spots. Many drivers spend nearly an hour each day searching for parking. He aimed to create a platform that connects underutilized parking spaces with drivers in need, utilizing technology for a more efficient process.
Notable Experiences
Reflecting on memorable moments at the company, Shelley expressed the fulfillment he feels when witnessing the tangible impact of their work. In 2025, he traveled 5,400 miles over three weeks, attending conferences and engaging with truck drivers, property owners, and industry partners, which provided him valuable insights.
Core Features of the Platform
Truck Parking Club’s primary offering is a booking platform that allows truck drivers to locate and reserve parking spaces at participating properties in real time. Property owners can list their spaces—ranging from small lots to large facilities—through the app and website, featuring elements like location-based searches, instant bookings, and secure payment options designed for an easy experience for both drivers and property owners.
Challenges and Technological Advancements
Challenges have included raising awareness around the critical issue of truck parking, which often goes unnoticed, despite its widespread impact. To combat this, the company has developed partnerships with property owners and the trucking industry while educating communities about their technological solutions. Since launch, the platform has continuously evolved based on feedback, introducing features like an Organizations program for large fleets and proprietary access control systems for easier access to reserved spaces.
Future Goals and Market Potential
Looking ahead, Truck Parking Club aims to drastically reduce the average parking search time from 56 minutes to under 10. To achieve this, they plan to expand to tens of thousands of locations across the U.S., with a target of reaching 10,000 by the end of 2026. The U.S. truck parking market presents a significant opportunity, with over 2 million truck drivers and fewer than 700,000 legal parking spaces, highlighting both a challenge and a substantial market gap for their services.
