Support for Veterans

ESCANABA — The Midwest Truck Driving School and North Country Electrical Line and Heavy Equipment School have shown their steadfast dedication to veterans by donating to the U.P. Honor Flight. This event took place in Escanaba, as the schools made efforts to give back to the community while honoring those who have defended our freedoms.

Presentation of Donation

Scott Knauf received the check for the U.P. Honor Flight, accompanied by three veteran instructors from the schools — Kyle, Don, and Dennis — who proudly participated in presenting the donation. Kyle Barron, representing the schools, stated, “We are fortunate to live in a country that is free due to the sacrifices of many. This donation serves as a small tribute to those who have served, ensuring their sacrifices are remembered.”

Impact of the Donation

The U.P. Honor Flight, which arranges trips for veterans to visit memorials in Washington, D.C., expressed appreciation for the schools’ generosity. The funds will support future flights, allowing more veterans from the Upper Peninsula to embark on this significant journey.

Commitment to the Community

Both Midwest Truck Driving School and North Country Electrical Line and Heavy Equipment School remain dedicated to assisting veterans and fostering community strength in Escanaba through various acts of appreciation and service.

Continued Community Engagement

As these schools engage with the community, their initiatives contribute to the overall welfare of the area, highlighting the importance of support for those who have served in the military.

A Lasting Legacy

This partnership and the recent donation reflect a commitment to ensuring that the sacrifices of veterans are acknowledged and celebrated, creating a lasting impact on both the local community and the lives of veterans.
