KANSAS CITY, Mo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

City Rent a Truck has introduced its sister company, City Truck Equipment, a comprehensive upfitting brand dedicated to delivering high-quality, ready-to-work truck configurations.

Initially created as an in-house solution to address issues of delays, backlogs, and quality concerns linked to external upfitters, City Truck Equipment has significantly enhanced efficiency, quality control, and turnaround times. Recognizing that their clients faced similar obstacles, City Rent a Truck saw a need for improvement.

“Relying on external upfitters prevented us from meeting our customers’ needs within their expected timelines,” commented Jeff Schuetz, President & CEO. “No one understands your customers quite like you do. When ‘Customer First’ is your core value, all decisions must be made with their experience in mind.”

From In-House Operation to National Provider

This venture has grown from a small internal operation to one of the country’s fastest-growing upfitters. City Truck Equipment’s builds have been rigorously tested in challenging conditions, specifically within rental scenarios, over the last five years.

City Truck Equipment operates out of a new headquarters in Kansas City, MO, with additional locations in Olathe, KS; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; and St. Louis, MO.

“Through our varied rental fleet, we have become adept at nearly every imaginable truck configuration,” remarked James McKinley, Vice President of Operations. “This experience propelled us toward expertise in builds ranging from service bodies to tri-axle dumps and everything in between.”

City Truck Equipment specializes in a range of configurations, including mechanic body crane trucks, flatbeds, reel transport beds, and contractor bodies, supported by skilled in-house engineering, fabrication, electrical, and hydraulic teams.

Designed for Builders

Upholding its mission of “Building Trucks That Build America,” City Truck Equipment consists of builders and problem-solvers who comprehend the impact of downtime and the importance of dependable fleet performance.

Both City Truck Equipment and City Rent a Truck operate under the same leadership team, ensuring that customers continue to receive the exceptional service, responsiveness, and quality that have characterized the City brand for over 60 years.

About City Truck Equipment

City Truck Equipment specializes in the upfitting and customization of work trucks and vans for vocational fleets. Every phase of the build process is managed in-house, utilizing expertise in engineering, fabrication, electrical work, and hydraulics.

About City Rent a Truck

Established in 1964, City Rent a Truck offers commercial truck rentals, rental purchase options (RPOs), and fleet solutions to businesses across the country.
