Trucking Tribute for Mark Shuman

A family paid tribute to a 48-year-old man, Mark Shuman, who passed away from brain cancer on February 28. His passion for trucking was commemorated through a heartfelt gesture during his funeral.

A Unique Farewell

Luke Shuman shared a drone video on Facebook showcasing a procession of semi-trucks in honor of his late father. Mark ran his own trucking business in Springfield, Ohio. On March 6, his casket was transported on a pink-trimmed semi, decorated with an American flag. The truck featured a message reading “In loving memory of Mark Shuman.”

A Sentimental Journey

In his post accompanying the video, Luke reflected, “On Wednesday, March 6th, we took my dad on his final ride. It was both emotional and a source of pride for all involved. Anyone who knew my dad understands he loved to go big.” He highlighted some unique truck designs featured in the video.

Gratitude for Support

Luke expressed his gratitude for the drivers who participated in the procession, noting that their collective horn sounds created an unforgettable moment. He shared, “It gave me goosebumps and many tears.”

Contributions to a Cause

In addition to honoring his father, Luke provided a link for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, mentioning that $2,300 has already been raised in his father’s name.

A Viral Response

Luke’s tribute gained significant attention online, with many strangers leaving comments lauding the spectacular homage. One trucker remarked, “I’ve been driving for 33 years and this is how I want to be delivered to heaven.”
