Jennifer Hedrick Named New President and CEO of Women In Trucking Association
PLOVER, Wis. – The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has appointed Jennifer Hedrick to serve as its new president and chief executive officer.
According to a press release, “She will collaborate closely with WIT’s board of directors and staff to manage initiatives aimed at furthering WIT’s goal of promoting women’s employment in the trucking sector, celebrating their achievements, and addressing the challenges they encounter.”
Hedrick brings 17 years of experience in association leadership and is recognized as an accredited executive by the American Society of Association Executives. She previously led the National Industrial Transportation League for five years, focusing on various issues related to highway, rail, and ocean freight transportation.
During her tenure, she advocated for member interests to enhance efficiencies within the commercial freight transportation system.
Hedrick began her position with WIT on January 9 and will officially take on full leadership duties on March 16. She is succeeding Ellen Voie, CAE, who has served as president and CEO since establishing WIT in 2007.
“Through WIT’s mission, we have built a community of 8,000 members dedicated to promoting gender diversity in a predominantly male industry,” Voie stated. “I am excited to have an experienced association executive like Jennifer Hedrick to continue advancing the vital mission of the organization I founded 16 years ago.”
Initially, Hedrick will concentrate on getting to know the association’s members and key stakeholders. She has already begun collaborating with WIT’s board of directors to identify future opportunities during a strategy meeting held last week in Dallas, as noted by Rachel Christensen, WIT chair and vice president of operations for J.B. Hunt Transport. “Under Jennifer’s leadership, WIT will persist in its fundamental mission of enhancing gender diversity in transportation,” Hunt remarked.
