MILAN, Ind. — Celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week
From September 13 to 19, as the trucking sector honors drivers nationwide during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), one Indiana-based trucking firm has an additional milestone to celebrate. Baylor Trucking, a family-owned company specializing in expedited dry van and refrigerated transport, is recognizing both NTDAW and its 75th anniversary with a special event on Saturday, September 19.
A Legacy in Trucking
Established in 1945 by World War II veteran Chester Baylor with a single truck, Baylor Trucking was later taken over by the late Bob Baylor, an Army veteran, in 1986. He expanded the fleet to 300 trucks. The company’s legacy now carries on under the direction of Cari Baylor, the third generation of the family leading the business.
“Starting a trucking business in the cornfields of Indiana and maintaining it through 75 years of economic fluctuations is an outstanding achievement,” stated Cari Baylor, president of Baylor Trucking. “We are thankful to God, and we appreciate all of our professional drivers and team members who have played a vital role in our success.”
Pre-Event Celebrations
In the month leading up to NTDAW, Baylor Trucking has been recognizing its drivers by sharing posts, conducting live raffle drawings, and more via its official Facebook page.
VIP Event Highlights
The VIP event on September 19 for drivers and their spouses will feature a two-night hotel stay covered by Baylor Trucking, a catered dinner, cake and champagne, along with entertainment from an 11-piece band. Each driver will receive personalized masks and gifts, with the chance to win raffle prizes. In addition, 75 prize-filled balloons will drop from the ceiling during the celebration.
Special Truck Giveaway
At the VIP gathering, Baylor Trucking will unveil the winning drivers who will be assigned to the company’s new fleet of 75th-anniversary trucks. These trucks boast premium exterior and interior features, including unique paint colors, decal packages, chrome bumpers, interior desks, and personalized seat covers, among other enhancements.
Continuing the Celebration
“As we celebrate our 75th anniversary during NTDAW, Baylor Trucking aims to express our appreciation and honor our exceptional professional drivers,” Baylor remarked. The company plans to continue its 75th-anniversary festivities throughout 2021 by performing 75 acts of kindness within the local community.
