Peterbilt has unveiled its latest electric truck, the Model 567EV, alongside updates for the Model 579EV. Both vehicles feature the PACCAR ePowertrain and are designed for battery-electric operation, catering to regional haul and vocational applications.
Model 567EV: Electric Solution for Vocational Fleets
The Model 567EV is tailored for vocational tasks such as dump trucks, flatbeds, utility vehicles, and haulers. It is offered with four battery capacity choices and boasts a maximum range of up to 250 miles. A showcased version came equipped with a 15-yard dump body.
The 567EV offers configurable PTO controls, ePTO ratings of 25kW or 150kW, customizable frame layouts, and standard connections for body lighting. Its interior trim and SmartDisplay system are similar to those in the 579EV.
Model 579EV: Enhancements for Regional and Drayage Fleets
The 579EV, built on the diesel Model 579 platform, is optimized for drayage and regional haul operations. It features updated exterior aesthetics and can achieve a range of up to 200 miles. The vehicle supports 350kW DC fast charging, which can recharge the battery to 80% in about 90 minutes.

New safety features for the Model 579EV include an electronic parking brake and the Bendix Fusion Stop & Auto-Go Advanced system. The interior features EV-specific Platinum Ionic Gray trim, laser-etched surfaces, and a 13-inch SmartDisplay infotainment system that includes navigation, health monitoring, and over-the-air update capabilities.
Shared Features in Peterbilt Electric Trucks
Both Peterbilt electric trucks utilize the PACCAR ePowertrain, which comprises a mid-mounted electric motor system, dual motors, and an integrated three-speed transmission. They offer power ratings of up to 605 HP and 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque.

The electric models feature lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and the trucks are equipped with regenerative braking with user-selectable settings. They also have SmartLinq integration for live vehicle data, cabin and drivetrain preconditioning, and adjustable charging schedules.
Charging Support and Infrastructure Development
Peterbilt offers a variety of AC and DC charging options through PACCAR Parts, with options available up to 350kW. The company collaborates with QMerit and Schneider Electric for charger installations and infrastructure planning.
“These vehicles broaden our electric truck line to accommodate a wider range of fleet segments and job site needs,” commented Erik Johnson, assistant general manager of sales and marketing. “They are crafted to facilitate both daily operations and long-term fleet objectives.”
