Challenging Industry Norms
In an era where agricultural equipment manufacturers frequently limit repair choices, a small company in Montana is taking a unique stance.
Innovative Sprayer Design
Ag Trucks and Equipment, situated in the quaint town of Fife between Great Falls and Belt, is redefining industry standards by creating high-capacity sprayers that farmers are able to fix by themselves.
Large Capacity on Offer
“The key selling point is our high capacity. We offer machines that can hold up to 3,000 gallons, while most competitors max out at around 1,600,” stated Steven Raska, owner and president of Ag Trucks and Equipment.
Small But Impactful Team
With a small team of just five full-time employees, this manufacturing facility produces notable sprayers that distinguish themselves in the market not just for their capacity but also for their repair philosophy.
Encouraging DIY Repairs
“Given the way most businesses operate, we see Ag Trucks as the antithesis of the machinery industry. We want people to be able to work on their own equipment, ensuring it lasts a long time without issues,” Raska explained.
Designed for Simplicity
The company enables farmers to handle their own repairs by intentionally simplifying their designs, offering specific products with easily recognizable systems and parts. “No tech-savvy kids needed for service. We promote DIY repairs,” he added.
A Loyal Customer Base
This approach has fostered a dedicated following. “Out of the 70 machines we’ve sold, none have returned to previous brands. We maintain customers on these machines for 13-14 years,” Raska affirmed.
The Value of Simplicity
For Raska, the philosophy is straightforward: agricultural life prioritizes simplicity, and equipment should reflect that principle. “Simplicity holds value. We aim to simplify, yet still accomplish the task,” he concluded.
