USA Truck Transitions to Arkansas-Based Private Ownership

VAN BUREN, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan 9, 2026–

USA Truck is excited to announce a major strategic shift to privately-owned status based in Arkansas, signaling an important new phase in the company’s over 40-year history. With the successful completion of an agreement for DSV to transfer 100% of its shares in USA Truck, Inc. to UTAC, LLC, a private Arkansas-based entity, USA Truck has officially reverted to ownership in the state where it originated. This transaction was finalized today.

Emphasizing Regional Identity and Commitment

The return to private ownership in Arkansas reinforces USA Truck’s identity as a U.S. transportation carrier with deep local ties, core values, and a long-term commitment to its customers, employees, and partners. Embracing the theme “USA Truck: Back and Built to Last,” the company is reaffirming its pledge to operational excellence, strong partnerships, and sustainable growth.

New Ownership and Leadership Structure

UTAC, LLC is guided by three principals with extensive knowledge of both USA Truck and the transportation sector, which ensures continuity and growth:

  • George Henry: Continuing as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Henry will be actively involved in day-to-day operations.
  • Zachary King: Former CFO of USA Truck, Mr. King will assist with the business transition as acting CFO.
  • James Reed: Former CEO of USA Truck and current Chairman of Kodiak Robotics & Loram, he will provide advisory support to Mr. Henry.

Kutak Rock LLP served as the legal advisor for UTAC, LLC throughout the transaction.

A Legacy Rooted in the Past, Focused on the Future

George Henry, CEO of USA Truck, reflected on the transition, stating, “I am deeply grateful to DSV for their engagement during their time with us and for their support throughout this transition. The insights and expertise gained from two leading freight forwarders are now integral to our operations. We are eager to have USA Truck return to its Arkansas roots, continuing the legacy established by our founder, a U.S. Naval Aviator, while enhanced by global insights. I owe a debt of gratitude to our dedicated employees and customers. Welcome back, USA Truck!”

Focus on Long-term Growth

The move to private ownership positions USA Truck to operate with increased agility, allowing a sharper focus on customer relationships, reliable service, and disciplined growth. The company remains financially robust and is well-prepared to enhance its reputation as a dependable transportation partner.
