AG Trucking Celebrates Long-Term Employee Commitment
GOSHEN, Ind. — Achieving 35 years at a single company is commendable, but for a driver in the transportation sector, it is quite exceptional.
“From the moment I joined AG Trucking in 1984, I felt that they were a family-driven company genuinely concerned about their drivers,” shared Rick Miller, who spent 25 years driving for AG before taking on his current role as a recruiter. “The company always ensured we had quality, well-maintained equipment, which made our lives easier on the road. I even encouraged my father to join, and he dedicated 20 years driving for AG too.”
Casey Stump, vice president and general manager at AG Trucking, emphasized the importance of driver satisfaction as a pillar of the company’s success. The Goshen-based company specializes in transporting food-grade liquids and materials, such as sand and limestone, across the contiguous United States and Canada, while also operating a regional division for dry bulk commodities in the Midwest.
“We’ve dedicated ourselves to fostering a company culture that appeals to drivers,” stated Stump. “We offer several driver-focused programs and provide our drivers with Kenworth T880s equipped for maximum comfort. Numerous drivers have been with us over 15 years, with some exceeding 30 years on the job.”
AG Trucking currently operates 157 company-owned Kenworth trucks, including 120 T880s acquired since 2017 from Palmer Trucks in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Most T880s feature 76-inch mid-roof sleepers, 450-horsepower engines, and 9-speed manual transmissions.
“Kenworth trucks have been an integral part of our operations since our inception,” noted Tim Boehlke, founder and president of AG Trucking. “Though we’ve tried different truck brands over the years, Kenworth vehicles have consistently proven to be the best.”
AG Trucking outfits its Kenworth T880 76-inch mid-roof sleeper units with amenities like refrigerators, inverters, high-quality interior trim, and more, aimed at enhancing the drivers’ experience on the road. Stump remarked, “We’re continuously exploring new features and conveniences to ensure our drivers enjoy their time on the road. Aside from our upgrades, drivers appreciate the ample storage space available in their sleepers.” Maintaining both comfort and reliability in the fleet is essential, as maximizing uptime translates to greater profitability for both drivers and the company.
