It is with great pleasure that I announce Ralph Garcia as the FIT Driver of the Month for December 2025.
With over 46 years of experience as a CDL driver, Ralph embodies the pinnacle of professionalism and commitment in the trucking sector.
Additionally, he is a four-time national champion in powerlifting within the 220-pound weight class.
Ralph attributes his outstanding health and strength to his disciplined nutrition and fitness regimen. He carefully prepares his meals, avoiding the unhealthy practices that many drivers tend to adopt on the road.
Focusing on wholesome foods, Ralph’s diet includes protein sources, meat, chicken, rice, and vegetables. He ensures he can maintain this diet during his travels by pre-packaging his meals.
Ralph consciously bypasses snacks such as chips and sugary beverages high in corn syrup, favoring raw veggies, fresh fruit, and water. However, he maintains a balanced approach by enjoying a “cheat day” every Sunday.
Equally dedicated to fitness, Ralph engages in regular exercise regardless of his travel location, whether at a gym or using resistance bands in his truck. He maintains an impressive routine of weight training and cardio five times a week.
In an industry where over 55% of drivers hold medical cards valid for only one year due to health complications, Ralph stands out for never requiring medication for high blood pressure or chronic ailments.
Ralph’s quest for excellence extends beyond health; it is evident in his driving career as well. He prioritizes safety and ensures sufficient rest, including taking hour-long naps during shifts. His commitment is reflected in his remarkable achievement of logging 5 million miles without an accident, a notable accomplishment in driving.
Throughout his career, Ralph has secured various prestigious accolades, including 23 state truck driving championships in New Mexico and 23 national championship competitions, triumphing as the National Champion in 2014.
In addition to his competition successes, he has contributed 25 years to the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) America’s Road Team and received multiple prestigious awards, including the Armstead Award and the Champion for Change Award from President Obama.
After an illustrious 46-year career characterized by safety and professionalism, Ralph retired in December 2025, proud and healthy — a testament to his lifelong commitment to well-being.
As a dedicated family man, his retirement offers him more opportunities to spend quality time with his beloved wife Anita, their three children, and seven grandchildren.
Ralph Garcia, your remarkable dedication and accomplishments are an inspiration to many. You have set a high standard in the industry, embodying what it means to be a role model.
