[Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Ice Road Truckers Season 12]
The Muskie Creek convoy found itself in a critical situation when Ice Road Truckers featured the events during the November 5 episode. Lisa Kelly attempted a tight turn on the infamous Asheweig Road when the ice bridge beneath her truck shifted, causing her load to tilt. Thankfully, the entire truck remained upright, but the crew still required assistance to continue on their path. Scott “Scooter” Yuill had to reach out to operations manager Bob Danh for help.
This incident served as a stark reminder for Lisa about the inherent dangers of their profession. Bob was concerned not just about the potential loss of the load they were carrying but also about losing a client. Assistance came from the King Fisher community. Scooter devised a plan to pull the shack back from one truck while pushing Lisa’s truck forward. They had to first free some stuck chains, which created a tense scenario, but their coordinated effort eventually paid off. Lisa had to put the pedal to the metal to finally free the trailer. The last challenge was reloading the two-ton camp shaft.
With the load secured, they faced a 400-mile journey back to Muskie Creek. Along the way, they encountered another ice bridge, presenting Lisa with a chance to confront her fears again. She successfully made it through, but Scooter initially became stuck before navigating past it. The next challenge was the bumpy “Crybaby Hill,” which Todd Dewey had previously tackled. Scooter found himself in trouble again, requiring “Muskie” Todd Friesen’s help to proceed. As one truck towed the other, Lisa quipped, “Is that how baby trucks are made?”
Meanwhile, Shaun Harris was on the road with his pet pig, Chris, as his copilot. Facing a challenging winter that severely impacted his business, he shifted his focus to Lake Athabasca. He headed to Points North to retrieve boxes of core samples intended for a mining exploration firm in Uranium City. Upon arrival, Shaun found the site deserted, with no instructions, and four feet of snow covering everything. After some deliberation, he managed to locate the correct boxes, and assistance soon came to help him load them quickly. He drove through the night to reach Fond du Lac and recover lost time, where he met up with Zach and Riley.
On his own journey, Todd Dewey tackled the final leg of an offload trip, reaching Deer Lake to deliver building materials. He even hopped into an excavator to expedite the unloading process. Afterward, he headed back to Muskie Creek without a backhaul but faced the challenges of steep hills. Navigating the terrain without weight on his trailer made steering around snow banks and trees particularly difficult.
As the season neared its conclusion, Todd expressed a desire to dedicate a truck to his father, who was involved in the logging industry. “He was my hero,” Todd shared, reflecting on his father’s passing two months after a cancer diagnosis. The trio—Todd, Scooter, and Lisa—shared some rare time together at Muskie Creek before their next assignments. Todd and Lisa reminisced about their past collaborations, while Lisa jokingly noted Scooter’s new catchphrase: “guys, I’m stuck.” This time together fostered bonding before they faced the unpredictable roads again.
