New Delhi: The second day of the Highway Heroes Campaign organized by TV9 Network and Shriram Finance in Kalamboli was marked by enthusiasm as numerous truck drivers participated. A government-certified training program was conducted once again, where drivers were educated about road safety, traffic regulations, first-aid procedures, and the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).
Upon completion of the training, drivers received certificates recognized by the Government of India, equating them to a Grade 12 certification. The three-hour training session equipped truck drivers with knowledge about new technology and safe driving practices. This certificate also allows them to renew their driving licenses without undergoing any additional training.
Understanding Cyber Fraud Protection
Maqsood Memon led a session focused on financial awareness and safeguarding against cyber fraud. He provided advice on saving money, preventing online scams, and managing expenses effectively.
Additionally, Dr. Suraj from Piramal Swasthya educated the drivers about symptoms, prevention, and treatment related to tuberculosis (TB). He emphasized the importance of timely testing and awareness for truck drivers at risk of contracting the disease.
Free Health Checkup Initiative
The Apollo Healthcare team organized a free health checkup camp for drivers to assess their blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and eye health. Many participants took advantage of this opportunity for their first medical examination, particularly after joining a yoga session conducted by Vinay Zende and Nisha Yadav, who taught various poses and exercises.
Upcoming Destination: Gandhidham
The Highway Heroes campaign is set to continue its journey in Gandhidham, Gujarat, on April 25 and 26. Truck drivers participating in the training will gain insights into enhancing their physical, mental, and financial well-being along with improving their technical skills. Following Gandhidham, the campaign will head to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
