Touch a Truck Event
On Saturday, attendees of all ages had the opportunity to explore construction equipment at the “Touch a Truck” event, hosted by the San Antonio Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT). The event featured a towering 100 ft crane, various heavy machinery, TXDOT’s robot dog named “DOT,” a drone showcase, and the “rollover convincer” among other displays.
A Memorable Experience for Kids
One parent, Kyle Adams, attended the event with his son Theo, who he described as being thrilled by the experience. “It was like a theme park for Theo,” Adams shared. “My son is fascinated by trucks and recognizes more of them than I do. Being able to walk around, climb in, honk the horns, and explore all the controls really made his day. For him, it’s like being at Disney World.”
Favorite Equipment Among Attendees
Among all the exhibits, Adrian Fazzone’s enthusiasm for the event was evident as he declared, “The trucks!” showcasing a special interest in the heavy machinery on display.
