Constructing a road involves much more than just laying down asphalt, and Saber Interactive understands this well. This is evident in RoadCraft’s diverse selection of specialized construction vehicles designed to tackle various tasks.

However, the game doesn’t primarily target seasoned laborers familiar with heavy construction technology. Many players may not even know what a Mobile Scraper is. Luckily, we have simplified information on each vehicle within the game for easier understanding.

Scouts

The first vehicle players unlock is the Scouts. This category includes various pickup trucks and off-road SUVs that excel in speed and agility for covering terrain.

Item and Terrain Scanners

Scouts come equipped with scanning capabilities. When activated, a ping from the vehicle reveals useful items in the vicinity, which can include quest-related objects like generators or safes. The terrain scanner highlights ground stability: green indicates solid ground, yellow shows caution with a risk of getting stuck, and red signals hazardous areas where even Scouts could struggle.

The Winch

The winch is another critical tool found on Scouts. It allows players to extend a cable that can attach to trees, stable structures, or other vehicles. This feature can be invaluable for retrieving items, extricating oneself from ditches, or helping another vehicle out of mud.

Special Equipment

In addition to job-specific vehicles, some machines have unique capabilities that don’t fall into conventional categories. For instance, the Mobile Operations Base enables players to spawn vehicles nearby, easing transportation challenges caused by difficult terrain. Meanwhile, the Cable Layer is crucial for restoring electricity, ideal for moving energy supplies over distances.

Road Works

The essential vehicles for road construction are featured in the Road Works category. Each type plays a pivotal role in paving new roads, offering ample opportunities for players to familiarize themselves with their functionalities.

Dump Truck / Heavy Dump Truck

Designed specifically for transporting and unloading sand, Dump Trucks can refill from sand quarries. Heavy Dump Trucks increase capacity and provide a mini quarry radius for stockpiling sand.

Dozer

Incredibly versatile, the Dozer can push debris, dig into the earth, and flatten sand. It features multiple operational modes to adapt to various tasks, including manual control for skilled users.

Cargo

The Cargo category encompasses vehicles made for transporting materials or other vehicles. From cargo trucks that require pairing with cranes to heavy equipment transporters designed for larger loads, this category is essential for logistics within the game.
