National Truck Equipment Association Announces Editors’ Choice Award

The National Truck Equipment Association recently revealed that the inaugural Work Truck Show Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation, introduced at The Work Truck Show 2005 earlier this month in Indianapolis, Indiana, ended in a tie between Crysteel Manufacturing Inc. and Rostra Precision Controls. This event took place alongside the 41st Annual NTEA Convention.

Purpose of the Editors’ Choice Award

The Editors’ Choice Award aims to honor the top new product or innovation among companies showcasing their offerings through the New Product Spotlight and New Product Media Guide initiatives. Nearly 50 editors from various trade magazines, representing 70 different industry publications, were invited to cast their votes.

Winning Products

The winners of this prestigious award were Rostra’s Rearsight Passive Rear Camera System and Crysteel’s ProMax Super Dump. These products showcased exceptional innovation and utility in their respective categories.

Rostra’s Rearsight Camera System

The Rearsight camera system is designed for use in Class 3–7 fleet applications for straight trucks. It provides visibility of objects that traditional mirrors might miss, even in challenging weather conditions. The system employs a high-quality color camera that can be placed in locations such as the spoiler, door latch, or bumper, with an in-cab monitor offering a wide-angle view between 110 and 160 degrees from the rear of the vehicle.
