Tech Mahindra, a prominent global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions across various industries, has formed a strategic alliance with Canal Insurance Company, a division of Canal Financial Group. This collaboration aims to expedite digital transformation within the Commercial Auto (Trucking) and Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sectors in North America.

The partnership merges Tech Mahindra’s expertise in Guidewire, cloud technology, data analytics, and artificial intelligence with Canal Insurance’s extensive knowledge in commercial auto underwriting and claims management. Officials from both companies assert that this alliance will enhance the end-user experience with a focus on digital-first solutions and self-service features, thereby streamlining processes such as quote management.

According to Roshan Shetty, Head of BFSI & Public Sector – Americas at Tech Mahindra, “Insurers face ongoing pressure to optimize costs while providing greater value to customers and agents. This dual challenge can restrict their ability to innovate and grow effectively. Our collaboration with Canal Insurance responds to this need by integrating their industry insights with our Guidewire, cloud, and AI technologies. We aim to enable Canal Insurance to streamline operations, enhance digital transformation, and achieve sustainable efficiency improvements.”

Through this collaboration, Tech Mahindra will develop a forward-looking, AI-driven architecture aimed at equipping Canal Insurance’s ecosystem with actionable insights for its stakeholders. This partnership strengthens Tech Mahindra’s reputation as an innovative leader in insurance technology and broadens its Guidewire practice within the P&C insurance sector. As a leading platform, Guidewire offers comprehensive functionality that aligns with industry standards for insurers.

Laura Beth Medley, Vice President and Chief Human Resources & Corporate Communication Officer at Canal Insurance, stated, “We are thrilled about our new AMS partnership with Tech Mahindra, especially as Canal aims for significant growth in the commercial trucking sector. This collaboration fortifies our foundation and propels our digital journey to deliver quicker, smarter solutions for all parties involved.”

Sai Thotapalli, Chief Technology Officer at Canal Insurance, added, “Our AMS partnership with Tech Mahindra is crucial to our modernization strategy. With their expertise in Guidewire and automation, we are streamlining operations and reducing costs while laying the groundwork for cloud adoption and digital innovation that will improve experiences for our agents and policyholders.”

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Tech Mahindra has a long history of assisting carriers in modernizing operations, adopting digital-first solutions, and unlocking long-term value. Officials also pointed out that this partnership with Canal Insurance further underscores Tech Mahindra’s dedication to transforming the P&C and Commercial Auto insurance landscape, solidifying its role as a trusted partner in this transformation.
