HDB Financial Services Launches Eighth Transport Aarogyam Kendra in Vijayawada
HDB Financial Services (HDBFS) proudly announces the opening of its eighth Transport Aarogyam Kendra (TAK) in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in partnership with MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child (Mamta-HIMC). This healthcare facility is specifically designed to address the health needs of truck drivers who often encounter various health issues such as musculoskeletal disorders and chronic pain due to the long hours spent driving and limited healthcare access. This initiative reinforces HDB’s dedication to enhancing the lives of truck drivers, who play a vital role in the nation’s economy and logistics sector.
Transforming Healthcare Access for Truck Drivers
Since launching its first center in Delhi in 2020, HDB’s Transport Aarogyam Kendra initiative has significantly improved healthcare accessibility for India’s highway heroes. The program’s success has prompted its expansion to major transportation hubs like Kalamboli, Ludhiana, Namakkal, Ranchi, Indore, and Gandhidham. Collectively, these centers have provided services to over 100,000 truck drivers across the country, positively influencing their lives through innovative healthcare and community-oriented services.
Advanced Care Facilities at TAK Vijayawada
The TAK center in Vijayawada is strategically located at Jawahar Auto Nagar, a key transport hub, and is outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment. Experienced therapists staff the facility, offering specialized physiotherapy counseling and treatment services tailored to the trucking community’s unique needs. The center is exclusively designed for truck drivers to access and benefit from these essential physiotherapy services.
Commitment to Truck Drivers’ Health
J Pramod Rao, Regional Manager of HDBFS, stressed the importance of this initiative, stating, “Truck drivers are the foundation of India’s logistics industry, yet often their healthcare needs go unaddressed. Through Transport Aarogyam Kendras, we are filling this gap by providing free and accessible healthcare. With the inauguration of our center in Vijayawada, we are eager to make a significant difference in the health of the trucking community in this area.”
Collaboration for Sustainable Healthcare
Murari Chandra, Deputy Director of Mamta-HIMC, highlighted that “The opening of this Transport Aarogyam Kendra in Vijayawada signifies our initial partnership with HDBFS, offering essential healthcare services to truck drivers in the region. This center serves as more than a medical facility; it represents a step towards creating a sustainable healthcare ecosystem for the trucking community. By emphasizing both immediate medical treatment and preventive health measures, we aim to mitigate long-term health risks and enhance the overall well-being of those who keep India’s economy moving.”
Ongoing Commitment to the Community
With the Vijayawada center now operational, HDBFS remains focused on its mission to support India’s “highway heroes,” ensuring they receive the necessary care and attention to lead healthier lives while contributing to the nation’s progress. By combining permanent healthcare centers with mobile medical camps, the initiative guarantees that truck drivers receive both immediate healthcare and sustained health support, enabling them to lead healthier, safer lives while keeping the country moving.
