A Romanian-born truck driver in Canada reported being violently assaulted by Ottawa City police after peacefully surrendering this past weekend, as he shared with Tucker Carlson on Monday.
Csaba Vizi, who has lived in Canada for 20 years, participated in protests in Ottawa for three weeks prior to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau activating the Emergencies Act. This led law enforcement to issue warnings to demonstrators, threatening arrest for “blocking the streets” and “committing a criminal offense.”

When the police approached him days later, Vizi anticipated an arrest but was not prepared for the violent encounter that ensued. “I got down from my truck, went down to one knee, and put my hands behind my head,” Vizi recounted on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “I expected them to take me away. At that moment, the officers started hitting me with sticks, shouting, ‘go back, go back.’ I told them, ‘I’m the driver.’”
Vizi recounted being taken to another area and ordered to lie on his stomach. The altercation was recorded and circulated widely on social media. “They dragged me in, laid me down on my belly, and I can’t recall how many were on top of me… It felt like I was being beaten, but I handled it like a man,” he stated.
Carlson pointed out that Vizi appeared to have difficulty breathing during the discussion, asking, “You seem to be having trouble breathing, were you injured by this?” Vizi confirmed, “Yes. They broke my body a little, but not my spirit.”
Just two days before the incident, Vizi told Fox News Digital that the police warnings to disperse were merely intimidation tactics by Trudeau, emphasizing his determination to stay. “Those willing to sacrifice for this cause are not deterred by threats of arrest, fines, or losing insurance,” he said.
As a Romanian who escaped communism in his youth, Vizi expressed his dismay at the current conduct of Canadian government and law enforcement officials. “I moved to Canada – everything was wonderful and I was so happy… However, over the last two years, it’s become almost impossible to live here anymore,” he lamented.
