New Single Release from Trucker Diablo
The hard rock band from Northern Ireland, Trucker Diablo, is set to release their latest single, “Other Side Of The City,” on April 26, with the music video already available for viewing.
Songwriting Inspiration
Lead vocalist Tom Harte recalled the creative process behind the song, noting how he and guitarist Simon came together in his old rock shed where they shared memories and influences from their past. Simon introduced a riff, and as they jammed together, the first lyric that emerged has remained unchanged, showcasing the magic of their collaboration. Harte emphasized their commitment to crafting good music, regardless of heaviness, and expressed pride in the song’s final version.
Recent Performances and Developments
In 2018, Trucker Diablo ended the year by performing at the Winter Storm Festival, earning accolades for being the “most fun and rockin’ band of the weekend.” Over the winter months, the band focused on revitalizing their music and reclaiming ownership of past albums. They revisited older song ideas, which led to the decision to commemorate a decade of Trucker Diablo with a special re-release of their initial two albums.
Celebrating a Decade of Music
This celebration resulted in “Devil Songs,” a comprehensive package featuring 30 tracks that combines their earlier albums, “The Devil Rhythm” and “Songs of Iron,” set to release in May 2019. The lead single, “Other Side of the City,” is a previously unreleased track that encapsulates the essence of what made Trucker Diablo popular since their debut, featuring strong riffs and engaging choruses that emphasize camaraderie.
Recording and Release Details
“Other Side of the City” was recorded in late 2018 at Einstein Studios with long-term producer Frankie McClay and includes contributions from the current bassist, Jim McGurk. The single is scheduled for release on April 26, 2019, while the double CD/digital album “Devil Songs” will follow with its 30 tracks in May 2019.
