Garbage Truck Driver Recalls Viral Moment with Trump
Andrew Bisson, the driver of the garbage truck that former President Trump famously boarded on Wednesday, shared details about the viral encounter in a recent interview.
According to Bisson, who is from Norway, Michigan, he was having lunch when his family-run LoadMaster garbage service unexpectedly received a call. He recounted this experience during an interview on Fox News’ “The Story.”
“At first, I couldn’t believe it until I answered the call and spoke with the person directly,” Bisson shared with Fox’s Martha MacCallum. “After a short chat, I discovered he had a connection with someone I knew in the industry. I then went to our lot, selected a tidy garbage truck, and drove it down to Green Bay.”
Bisson drove to the Republican candidate’s rally at the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, showcasing a truck adorned with Trump and “Make America Great Again” logos.
At the rally, Trump climbed into Bisson’s garbage truck wearing an orange work vest. Bisson noted that the press kept Trump occupied, allowing for minimal conversation between them, though Trump did shake Bisson’s hand and say hello.
Adding to the excitement, Bisson recounted how he caused a moment of panic for the Secret Service when Trump requested a quick ride. “After the press concluded, I fired up the truck, honked the horn, and he looked at me and asked, ‘Can you take me for a ride in this thing?’” Bisson explained. After moving the truck only a foot or two, the Secret Service signaled for him to stop, ending the brief ride.
Trump’s Comments and Response to Biden
Trump donned the orange vest and took a seat in the truck to address President Biden’s recent comments in which he labeled Trump supporters as “garbage.” “How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump asked the reporters during the rally, stating, “This is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
Biden’s remarks were triggered by a joke from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage” during a Trump mega-rally last week at Madison Square Garden. In response to this insult, Trump defended his record with Puerto Rico, asserting, “Nobody has done more for Puerto Rico than me. I took care of them during the hurricanes.” He further expressed his affection for the Puerto Rican people, saying, “They love me, and I love them.”
On the comedian’s statements, Trump remarked, “I don’t know who he is. I heard he made a comment, but that’s his business as a comedian.”
