Inauguration of TV9’s Highway Heroes Campaign in Chennai
The recent event of the TV9 Network in Chennai was inaugurated by S. Balamurugan, CSR Head of Shriram Finance, along with D. Rosiya, Head of the Truck Terminal. Both expressed their support for this initiative, highlighting the importance of such campaigns for the trucking community.

New Delhi: The TV9 Network, in collaboration with Shriram Finance, has launched an innovative campaign focusing on the financial and mental health of truck drivers, titled ‘Highway Heroes.’ Following a successful event in Bengaluru, the campaign has now reached Chennai.
A two-day event took place on May 6 and 7 at the CMDA Truck Terminal Complex in Madhavaram, Chennai. Many truck drivers actively participated, making the initiative a success. This program aims to enhance the mental, physical, and financial well-being of truckers.
Importance of the Campaign
The opening event was attended by the CSR Head of Shriram Finance and the Truck Terminal Head, who emphasized that the campaign is vital for the trucking community’s welfare.
Mental Health Sessions: This marks the second season of the Highway Heroes campaign in South India. During this segment, yoga instructors offered meditation and yoga sessions aimed at helping truck drivers combat fatigue and enhance focus during their journeys.
Physical Health Initiative: Recognizing the necessity for health among truck drivers, a health checkup camp was organized by Apollo Hospitals, offering various assessments for free, including blood pressure and sugar level tests.
Financial Awareness Session
Financial health discussions led by experts from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) provided drivers with insights on budgeting, saving, and investment strategies, along with tips to avoid cyber fraud.
The initiative also imparts skills and encourages drivers to gain a government-recognized 12th plus value certificate, aiding in driving license renewals accepted in over 90 countries. After Chennai, the Highway Heroes campaign will continue to Vijayawada, scheduled for May 10-11, 2025.
