Exciting Night of Racing Returns to Grandview Speedway
On Tuesday, July 1, the highly anticipated NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series makes its return to the Grandview Speedway. Sponsored by Alpine Building Supply, the event features the Pennsylvania 410 Sprint Speed Week Series Hodnett Cup alongside the 358 Modifieds. Gates are scheduled to open at 5 PM, with racing set to start at 7:30 PM.
Advance Ticket Sales and Pricing
The popular Thunder on the Hill advance ticket process is available for the 410 Sprint and Modified Double Header on July 1. To purchase tickets in advance, call 443-513-4456, provide your name and the number of tickets needed. You can pay for and collect your tickets at the Will Call Window after 4:15 PM and enter the main grandstand at 4:30 PM. General admission tickets go on sale at 5 PM and are priced at $30 for adults, $10 for children aged 6 to 11, while kids 5 and under enter free. A pit fee of $45 is applicable, but a license is not required.
Tribute to Greg Hodnett
The Hodnett Cup honors Greg Hodnett, a prominent driver who tragically passed away in a racing accident in 2018. The cup is an actual trophy owned by Greg, with the names of event winners inscribed each year. Notable past winners include Danny Dietrich (2019), Aaron Reutzel (2020), Kyle Larson (2021), and Rico Abreu in 2022 and 2023. Logan Schuchart claimed the $10,000 prize in the 2024 event.
Pre-Race Tailgate Party
Alpine Building Supply will host a pre-race tailgate party from 4:30 to 5:30 PM, located just behind the main grandstand. Fifty advance ticket holders will be randomly selected at the entrance to join the festivities. The event will offer food, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks, with special guest Craig Von Dohren present for a Meet & Greet.
Alpine Thunder on the Hill Series Merchandise
The Alpine Thunder on the Hill Series shirt will feature a design showcasing a 410 Sprint, Non-Wing 410 Sprint, and a 358 Modified. All proceeds from shirt sales will benefit the Big Impact Group in Schuylkill County. Shirts will be available at the Alpine Building Supply booth during Thunder on the Hill events for $20 (up to XL) and $25 for larger sizes.
Featured Drivers and Bonuses
Expect to see top 410 Sprint competitors like Anthony Macri, Danny Dietrich, Freddie Rahmer, and Lance Dewease at the event. Among the 358 Modified drivers, Craig Von Dohren, Brett Kressley, and Duane Howard are set to race. Alpine Building Supply has also introduced a $2,000 bonus for first-time Modified Thunder winners, bringing the potential prize for the 30-lap feature to $5,000.
