Putzmeister and Volvo Trucks have launched a battery-operated concrete pump capable of extending approximately 138 feet. This innovative vehicle is set to be supplied to Swerock, a construction company based in Sweden.
The introduction of the truck took place during a press event at Bauma, which is held in Munich, Germany. The manufacturers state that this electric concrete pump can travel up to 30 miles and deliver around 65 cubic yards of concrete without the need for recharging. For longer journeys or larger concrete volumes, a Combined Charging System (CCS2) can be installed at the job site, enabling the vehicle to pump while it recharges.
“This battery-electric pump truck offers a zero-emission solution, operates quietly, and provides an efficient process through its work-while-charging capability,” stated Christoph Fitz, head of sales for Volvo Trucks in Germany, in an official release.
