Zeus Electric Chassis Partners with One Stop Truck & Equipment
Zeus Electric Chassis, based in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, has officially signed its first dealer agreement with One Stop Truck & Equipment from Sacramento, California, for its Class 5 zero-emission work trucks.
Enhancing the EV Experience for Customers
According to Zeus CEO Dave Stenson, the goal of this collaboration is to streamline the electric vehicle transition in a complex industry. The aim is to offer products that enable customers to transport operators, tools, and materials without requiring significant changes to their operations. Stenson emphasized that they intend to build on the existing framework of vocational work truck products rather than imposing new dimensions or cab styles on clients.
Assembly Partner Announcement
In related news, Zeus Electric Chassis has selected Edison Manufacturing as its assembly partner, further aligning its production capabilities with its mission of sustainability.
Offering Conventional Designs
One Stop Truck & Equipment plans to provide Zeus’ zero-emission chassis combined with a traditional pickup-style cab. These aluminum cabs, designed using techniques from fire truck construction, are also manufactured in the United States.
Addressing Customer Demand
General Manager Daryl Trueblood of One Stop Truck & Equipment expressed confidence in the Zeus Z-19 Class 5 vehicle, stating it meets customer needs. He highlighted ongoing discussions that reveal a strong demand for this type of truck, noting excitement about the partnership with Zeus during the final development phase.
Targeting California’s Commercial Market
Zeus and One Stop are preparing to meet the increasing demand for zero-emission commercial vehicles, particularly in California. The company sees this as the beginning of a broader shift towards zero-emission work trucks, fueled by long product lifecycles, state incentives, and fleet mandates that support the integration of electric vehicles, especially in applications where long-range driving is less critical.
Future Outlook for ZEV Adoption
Zeus anticipates that this partnership will mark the beginning of a significant transition within the work truck sector as more fleets explore electric vehicle options for various applications, paving the way for a more sustainable future in the commercial vehicle market.
