Driver of the Month Announcement
IRVING, Texas — National Carriers Inc. (NCI) has announced Walter Lee from El Cajon, California, as its driver of the month for November. Lee has been a part of NCI’s Elite Fleet since October 2014, primarily transporting freight within the Los Angeles area.
Reasons for Choosing NCI
“There are a couple of reasons I picked NCI,” Lee explained. “Firstly, the maintenance of our equipment is unparalleled in the industry, and secondly, I noticed that fewer NCI trucks were idling at truck stops waiting for loads compared to other companies. NCI offers stability, financial security, and a personal touch—drivers are recognized by name rather than just being a number.”
Work-Life Balance
Lee emphasized the importance of finding a job that allows for a good work-life balance. He stated, “I wanted a company that provides me with a respectable paycheck, gets me home regularly, and understands that we have lives outside of trucking. I aim to truly live rather than merely survive.”
Company Culture
When asked about his decision to remain with NCI, Lee highlighted the company’s positive attitude towards both employees and clients. “I quickly learned that NCI embodies the golden rule: ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ Although it’s not written down, they truly practice it. After 26 years and over 2.5 million miles on the road, NCI treats me as I wish to be treated.”
Recognition and Awards
As recognition for his achievements, Lee was awarded a $1,000 bonus for being named driver of the month. He is now in contention for NCI’s 2020 Driver of the Year award, which includes a $10,000 prize.
