Acknowledgment of Victoria Lombardo
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Victoria Lombardo has achieved the honor of being the inaugural recipient of the Rookie of the Year award from the Used Truck Association.
Background and Role
At just 26 years old, Lombardo serves as a senior marketing representative for Freedom Truck Finance and holds the position of chair officer for the UTA’s Young Members’ Committee. Her award was presented during the annual UTA convention last month in Indian Wells, California.
Rapid Acclimatization to the Industry
Despite her recent entry into the trucking sector and joining the UTA, officials noted that Lombardo has immersed herself fully in her new responsibilities. She has quickly become a passionate advocate for the UTA and the trucking industry as a whole, recognizing the demographic challenges and exciting prospects for women and younger individuals in a field with enduring longevity.
Passion for Trucks
“Something clicked with me, and I became very passionate about trucks. There will always be trucks,” Lombardo expressed. She admitted to being taken aback by receiving the award, reflecting on the busy nature of her job and new association duties, leaving little time to contemplate her accomplishments.
Gratitude Towards the UTA
Lombardo emphasized the value of the UTA in providing young members with access to a network of seasoned mentors. She expressed appreciation for those who have supported her in her professional journey. “We’re all here to build relationships, make money, and someday own our own businesses,” she added, highlighting the importance of rapport in business dealings.
A Spirit of Cooperation
In Lombardo’s view, UTA members collaborate in a spirit of support rather than competition. Her eagerness to learn and dedication to hard work have led to her recognition from the association she is enthusiastic about propelling into the future, noted Bobby Williams, chair of the UTA Dealers’ Group.
Significance of the Award
This year marks the first time UTA has honored a distinguished young member with the Rookie of the Year Award. “Victoria was awarded this great honor by her peers, underscoring why she truly deserves it,” stated Williams.
