The trucking sector is projected to experience a significant driver shortage through 2012 and 2013, with industry estimates indicating a need for approximately 135,000 additional drivers. Despite high unemployment, motor carriers anticipate an increase in job openings as freight transportation demand rises.

To address this growing need, Denver will host a premier trucking job fair accompanied by a free barbecue on Tuesday, June 26. Fourteen leading trucking firms, including Werner, Pride, May, Swift, and Knight, will be present to provide insights to those interested in pursuing a career in trucking. The job fair is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SAGE Truck Driving School in Henderson.
