Numerous freight and trucking industry representatives have expressed their support for the newly passed tax and budget initiative dubbed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
President Donald Trump enacted this legislation on July 4 during a celebratory ceremony at the White House, aligning with the nation’s Independence Day festivities. This comprehensive law includes a plethora of tax incentives aimed at private sector leaders and investors, marking a significant achievement for Trump’s second term.
The American Trucking Associations highlighted the potential advantages of the new law, which is expected to invigorate a freight sector eager for economic growth this year.
“We express gratitude to Republicans in Congress and President Trump for their role in advancing this comprehensive tax reform package. This legislation delivers vital assurance to the trucking industry, which is crucial to our economy, allowing it to expand and prosper,” stated ATA President Chris Spear following the bill’s approval by the Republican-led Congress.
Spear emphasized that Congress’s passage of this bill prevented what could have been the largest tax hike in U.S. history. “The economy and our supply chain could not have endured such a consequence. This money belongs to us, not the government, and truckers know how to best reinvest it for prosperity,” he added.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce acknowledged the long-term economic implications of the new law. Chamber CEO Suzanne P. Clark remarked, “The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act represents a victory for economic advancement, workers, and communities nationwide. A competitive, growth-oriented tax policy is crucial for strengthening the economy and increasing wages.” She noted that the Chamber has long supported a stable, globally competitive tax code.
