Driver Alarmed by ‘Swinging Pole’ Risk
A driver expressed their disbelief upon witnessing a truck maneuvering with an unusually large pole dangling from its side, reminiscent of a video game scene.
Video footage shared on the Facebook group Cirencester – Spotted shows the truck navigating a mini-roundabout while the equipment swings perilously in the air.
As the vehicle progresses, the boom swings over the adjacent sidewalk before colliding with a road sign.
Luckily, there were no pedestrians present, but the witness who recorded the video was concerned for potential injuries if someone had been nearby.
In their post, they remarked: “I saw the truck come out of Querns Lane heading towards Waitrose and worried that the swinging pole could seriously injure someone. It hit an orange barrier and then a sign as it reached the roundabout.”
Commenters on the post quickly suggested that the driver should have alerted the truck or honked their horn to raise awareness of the dangerous situation.
