Asset Purchase Announcement

On November 11, 2025, Tri-State Truck & Equipment, Inc. completed an asset purchase transferring leases and inventory from five dealership locations in Montana and Wyoming, which serve a significant portion of these states and the western panhandle of Nebraska, to TranSource. This agreement also encompasses Tri-State’s dealerships for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks.

TranSource Overview

TranSource, a construction equipment entity with headquarters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been operating for more than 60 years. Following this acquisition, the company will expand its presence to a total of 10 locations. In the new territories of Montana and Wyoming, TranSource plans to provide articulated haul trucks, excavators, wheel loaders, rigid haulers, compact equipment, compactors, and a range of services. It will also offer a comprehensive selection of general-purpose equipment and compact machines in Nebraska, though compactors will not be included.

Expansion and Market Presence

Since 2017, TranSource has been a Volvo CE dealer in the Midwest, and this acquisition represents its second expansion into new territories this year.

Industry Expert Insight

Scott Young, Head of Region North America at Volvo CE, stated, “TranSource has consistently been a robust Volvo CE dealer, surpassing market share expectations. This expansion enhances inventory options for customers, broadens access to a larger rental fleet, and increases service capabilities. We are proud of their ongoing success.”

Company Commitment

Dan Bland, President of TranSource, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, saying, “We’re excited to broaden our presence in these states where many of our esteemed customers are based. With our coverage extending to 10 full-service dealerships, we are in an improved position to provide responsive support, parts availability, and the equipment expertise our clients depend on, regardless of their job location.”
