Investigation Underway Following Fatal Incident at Moorhead Business

MOORHEAD — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into an incident that occurred on Tuesday, December 16, at a Moorhead business resulting in a man’s death.

According to a statement from Sheriff Mark Empting, the Sheriff’s Office and Sanford Ambulance were dispatched at 9:10 a.m. to Bert’s Truck Equipment located at 3804 Highway 75 N. in Moorhead. The call was regarding a “workplace accident involving a male with a traumatic chest injury” caused by an axle that had reportedly fallen on him.

Upon arrival, deputies found the injured man alert and conscious in the shop area. He was subsequently transported by Sanford Ambulance to Sanford Hospital. However, he lost consciousness during the journey, as noted by Empting.
