Fatal Collision Involving Rolls-Royce and Oil Tanker
A high-speed incident involving a Rolls-Royce Phantom and an oil tank truck occurred near the Delhi-Mumbai-Baroda Expressway, close to Umri village in Nuh, Haryana, on August 22, 2023. Initial reports suggested that the oil tanker was traveling against traffic before colliding with the luxury vehicle. However, CCTV footage has since clarified the situation, revealing that the truck driver was not at fault.
The CCTV recording shows the Rolls-Royce speeding at 200 km/h before striking the rear of the oil tank truck. The footage indicates that the luxury car lost control and crashed into the truck while traveling in the center lane, resulting in immediate flames engulfing the Rolls-Royce and the oil tank truck flipping over.
The collision took place around 11:15 a.m., as the Rolls-Royce Phantom passed the Hilalpur toll plaza on the expressway. Police reports indicate that three passengers in the Rolls-Royce were transported to a hospital in Gurgaon for treatment.
Unfortunately, the crash proved fatal for the driver and helper of the oil tank vehicle, identified as Rampreet and Kuldeep, respectively. It is noteworthy that the Rolls-Royce was part of a convoy comprising 20 vehicles, which included two escort cars equipped with red beacons and security personnel dressed in blue safari suits.
Investigation into the Incident
Reports indicate that Vikas Malu, Director of Kuber Group and one of the passengers in the Rolls-Royce, suffered injuries in the crash. The Haryana Police have issued a notice for him to participate in the investigation. Police officials revealed that questioning will commence following his discharge from the hospital in Gurugram.
