Public Assistance Requested in Truck Theft Investigation
SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out for the community’s assistance in identifying individuals linked to the theft of a pickup truck that occurred last weekend in Far North Bexar County.
According to deputies, surveillance footage from shortly before 2 a.m. on June 15 showed a small SUV, potentially a Mercedes, parking in front of a home on Veining Way. A passenger in a hoodie exited the vehicle and remained at the location for approximately 18 minutes before departing in a silver 2022 Ram 1500, which belonged to the homeowner.
Authorities report that the stolen truck contained several thousands of dollars in valuable work equipment. The suspect was seen crawling beneath the truck, likely attempting to disable the horn or alarm system before driving off.
Due to inadequate lighting and poor video quality, no license plate or detailed description of the suspect was obtained. Investigators did recover a screwdriver left at the scene, which is currently being analyzed as evidence.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging local residents to review any home surveillance footage that might have captured additional images of the suspects or the vehicles involved. Anyone with pertinent information is encouraged to get in touch with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
If you have any insights or witnessed suspicious activity on the night in question, please call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 335-6000.
