Meeting Attila Gyorfi
I first met Attila Gyorfi a year and a half ago when he accepted one of my fitness challenges. This gave me insight into his commitment to both his profession and his health while traveling.
A Milestone in Driving
Recently, Attila celebrated 20 years of driving, achieving over 2 million miles without any accidents. Alongside his driving skills, he also holds degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering.
Current Role and Weekly Mileage
Since May 2020, Attila has been working with RSP Express Inc. in Romulus, Michigan, averaging around 3,000 miles per week.
The Importance of Fitness
Attila stresses that staying fit on the road is essential for his career. He believes that taking care of his physical and mental health helps him stay alert, safe, and efficient while driving.
Dedicated to Health and Fitness
He firmly believes, “A healthy truck driver is a safe driver.” He acknowledges that good health allows him to drive longer hours, providing for his family. While his truck covers the miles, his well-being enables the journey.
Exercise and Nutrition Routine
Attila is serious about his fitness and nutrition routines. He values simplicity and consistency, incorporating warm-ups, squats, bench presses, shoulder workouts, back exercises, and bicep training into his weekly regimen. He also includes short five- to ten-minute routines targeting his core. According to him, it’s an effective way to start or end a workday.
Nutritional Support
On the nutritional front, Attila receives help from his wife who prepares his weekly meals. His diet features boiled eggs, chicken, beef, beans, beets, cottage cheese, tuna, sardines, Bulgarian yogurt loaded with probiotics, avocados, tomatoes, red onions, garlic, and red peppers. He complements this with fresh salads from Love’s and a homemade dressing of olive oil and apple cider vinegar, ensuring he stays hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
