Voting for Innovative Products at The Work Truck Show 2008
Industry experts and trade publications are once again poised to cast their votes for the most groundbreaking new products at The Work Truck Show 2008. The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) will host the New Product Innovation Award and the Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation at this year’s event.
Event Details
The Work Truck Show 2008 coincides with the 44th Annual NTEA Convention, taking place from February 26-28, 2008, with the convention running from February 25-28 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. As the largest work truck and trailer industry event in North America, it’s a key venue for launching new chassis, commercial truck equipment, product innovations, and accessories.
Show Highlights
Last year, over 80 new products were showcased at the exhibition. Exhibitors participating in the New Product Spotlight program, which promotes new offerings before, during, and after the show, will automatically qualify for the New Product Innovation Award. This award, often referred to as the “attendees’ choice award,” goes to the product that garners the most votes from attendees.
Award Winners
In 2007, SafeTec Platforms won the New Product Innovation Award for its LineBacker work platforms. Meanwhile, editors at The Work Truck Show utilize their industry knowledge to determine the recipient of the Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation. Exhibitors involved with the New Product Spotlight and/or New Product Media Guide programs are automatically entered for consideration for this accolade.
Recognition for Innovators
The New Product Media Guide, a comprehensive compilation of new product literature from exhibitors, is put together by the NTEA for attending media. Last year, the Editors’ Choice Award was awarded to Dodge for its range of commercial vehicles, which included the 2008 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs and the Dodge Sprinter.
Awards and Benefits
Winners of these awards receive a plaque, the opportunity to mention their recognition in product marketing, and increased visibility from trade media and the NTEA. Information regarding the awards and participation forms for exhibitors will be accessible from the NTEA starting in early August.
Networking Opportunities
The Work Truck Show facilitates connections between vocational, municipal, and private truck fleet managers and buyers with hundreds of manufacturers, distributors, and dealers that supply essential trucks and equipment. Attendees can explore the latest full-size work trucks and equipment while reviewing individual vehicle parts from 500 suppliers, along with attending industry-focused training sessions.
