In June, a commitment was made to focus more on fitness enthusiasts and their lifestyles.
Introducing July’s Fit Driver of the Month: Phasit Thanet. He has been a licensed CDL driver since 2024, and his driving experience includes roles in oilfields, operating heavy machinery, and currently serving as an over-the-road driver for Avala Express LLC based in Franksville, Wisconsin.
Despite the challenges of life as a professional driver, Phasit remains dedicated to maintaining his fitness on the road. His passion for both fitness and trucking is evident in the photos and videos he shares.
Maintaining a healthy weight and being an active bodybuilder while working as an OTR driver is often considered a significant challenge, if not impossible.
However, Phasit believes that nothing is unachievable with the right amount of commitment, resources, and motivation. His drive comes from his aspiration to participate in a bodybuilding competition and powerlifting event alongside his son.
When asked about his workout routines while on the move, Phasit revealed that he maintains memberships at two national 24-hour gym chains, noting that there is typically a location available in the towns he delivers to.
Here’s an example of Phasit’s workout regimen:
Day 1: Push Day – Chest and Triceps
4 Chest exercises – 4 sets of 8-10 reps
3 Triceps exercises – 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Day 2: Pull Day – Back and Biceps
4 Back exercises – 4 sets of 8-10 reps
3 Biceps exercises – 4 sets of 9-10 reps
Day 3: Legs Day
6 Leg exercises – 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Day 4: Rest or Repeat
The Importance of Diet
Phasit emphasizes that cooking and preparing meals in the truck is vital for achieving his fitness objectives. Often, traditional truck stop food options are neither healthy nor budget-friendly!
His recommendation is to keep meals straightforward and plan ahead. Preparation is crucial—he advises shopping before hitting the road to stock up on healthy and easily preparable foods, such as tuna and low-carb sandwich wraps. Additionally, reading nutrition labels is essential to understand what you’re consuming.
