A FIFO worker known as the “world’s hottest truck driver” has shared details about her remarkable six-figure salary, which she claims enables her to enjoy her “best life.”
Ashlea, a resident of Perth, has provided a glimpse into her demanding job in remote Western Australia through social media.
As a dump truck driver, she has a schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off at the Pilbara mines, starting her day at 4 a.m. for intense 12-hour shifts in extreme heat. The effort is rewarding, as Ashlea earns $120,000 annually by working just six months a year, declaring she has an “awesome life.”
In a TikTok video, Ashlea explained her lifestyle: “How do I achieve this? I do a two-on, two-off roster, giving me ample time for exciting activities. I prioritize doing really cool things.”
She mentioned several factors contributing to her fulfilling life: “I have no children, and I’m single by choice. Additionally, I have no debt and own my car, allowing my finances to look good.”
Ashlea elaborated on her earnings: starting with $36.50 an hour as a trainee, her pay rose to $43.50 after three months. Her first year as a new truck driver would yield about $94,000, and with her experience increase, she transitioned to a higher-paying contractor, reaching $51.50 an hour. With bonuses, she anticipates earning around $122,000 in her first year.
Previously inexperienced, Ashlea worked various jobs, including housekeeping and bar work, to gain entry into the mining industry. She emphasized the importance of persistence, making multiple calls to secure her traineeship, which led to her current role driving dump trucks, a job she finds both challenging and rewarding.
