Maxim Commercial Capital Announces Elam as COO Amid Key Industry Staffing Changes

Several equipment financing companies, an insurance provider, and a key player in the autonomous trucking sector made significant leadership appointments in the last month.

Lyndon Elam Joins Maxim’s Executive Team

Maxim Commercial Capital, an equipment financing company based in Los Angeles, has appointed Lyndon Elam as its chief operating officer effective immediately, as stated in a company release from September 15. Elam will oversee both the origination and portfolio management teams, in addition to guiding operational strategy.

With over two decades of experience in specialized finance, Elam most recently served as the chief operating officer at United Auto Credit, where he played a pivotal role in the integration of the company with online marketplace Vroom following its acquisition.

North Mill Appoints Steve Siler as CTO

North Mill Equipment Finance, an independent lender, has named Steve Siler as chief technology officer with immediate effect, according to a company announcement on September 8. Siler is tasked with managing all digital and strategic technology initiatives.

Siler brings over 20 years of technology expertise in asset-backed finance and private credit, and has previously served as CTO at Stonebriar Commercial Finance and led technology efforts at investment firm Eldridge.

Clarus Capital Welcomes Adrian Herr as Controller

Clarus Capital, located in Boston, appointed Adrian Herr as controller to manage its accounting and financial reporting functions, effective immediately, as per a September 8 company release. Herr will collaborate with Chief Financial Officer Mike Eisenstein to push forward strategic financial projects.

With over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, Herr was most recently the senior vice president of finance at fintech firm Hometap and has held positions at wealth tech company Envestnet and liquid alternatives platform AlphaHedge Capital Partners.

PlusAI Establishes Safety and Policy Advisory Council

PlusAI, a provider of autonomous trucking technology, has formed a Safety and Policy Advisory Council to guide their safety and regulatory approaches in anticipation of their commercial launch in 2027, as noted in a September 23 company announcement.

This council comprises experts in transportation and logistics, alongside government officials. Notable figures include:

  • Andrew Boyle, former co-president of Boyle Transportation and past chairman of the American Trucking Associations (ATA).
  • Jeff Denham, a former Republican congressman from California and member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
  • Sue Lawless, former acting deputy administrator and chief safety officer at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  • Spencer R. Moore, former commissioner of the Georgia Department of Driver Services and past chairman of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.
  • Dan Van Alstine, former president and COO of Ruan Transportation Management Systems and past ATA chair.

Wei Fan Promoted to COO at RVI Group

RVI Group, a financial services provider specializing in insurance for commercial equipment, has promoted Wei Fan from executive vice president to COO, effective immediately, as revealed in a September 2 company announcement. Fan has been with the company since 2007, where he led various departments including quantitative analysis and passenger vehicle portfolios.
