Clarification on Keith Urban’s Interview Incident
Reports suggesting that Keith Urban abruptly ended an interview after being asked about his wife, Nicole Kidman, are not entirely correct. According to sources, it was not Urban who terminated the interview.
Urban appeared on Hayley & Max in the Morning on Mix 102.3 in Australia on July 1. During the conversation, he was asked about a film scene featuring Kidman and Zac Efron. A source provided a clarification to People, stating that Urban did not disconnect as the radio hosts believed, and as been reported by various outlets including Taste of Country.
“He doesn’t manage his Zoom interviews. This is a complete non-issue,” the unnamed source remarked.
The question posed was related to an intimate scene from the film A Family Affair, which shows passionate interactions between Kidman and Efron. The film, set for a 2024 release on Netflix, also features Joey King and Kathy Bates.
The radio hosts asked, “What does Keith think about Nicole being with younger co-stars on screen?” Urban initially responded positively with, “Oh, yeah that’s a good one,” before getting disconnected during the ensuing discussion.
Recently, Kidman and Urban celebrated 19 years of marriage. Although Urban did not post a tribute on social media, he commented on a picture his wife shared on Instagram saying, “Happy anniversary baby” beneath a black-and-white photo of the couple embracing.
The couple has two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and it’s common for them to appear together at events, whether for movies or music awards. Additionally, Kidman often supports Urban on his concert tours. Urban’s current High and Alive Tour began in May and runs through October, though he is currently on a short break with his next performance scheduled for July 17 in Colorado.
