Clarifying Keith Urban’s Interview Incident
Recent reports suggesting that Keith Urban cut off an interview due to a question about his wife, Nicole Kidman, are not fully accurate. Sources clarify that Urban did not personally end the interview.
On Tuesday morning (July 1), Urban spoke with Hayley & Max in the Morning on Australia’s Mix 102.3. The hosts inquired about a movie scene featuring Kidman and Zac Efron. A statement from a source indicated that the singer did not hang up, contrary to the belief of the radio hosts and claims reported by various outlets including Taste of Country.
According to the unnamed source, “He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.” The question posed was related to an intimate moment in the Netflix film, A Family Affair, which includes passionate scenes between Kidman and Efron. The movie also stars Joey King and Kathy Bates and is set for release in 2024.
When asked about his feelings seeing Kidman with younger co-stars, Urban responded positively, saying, “Oh, yeah that’s a good one,” but was then disconnected from the call.
Last week, Kidman and Urban marked 19 years of marriage. Urban did not post a celebratory message on social media but did comment on Kidman’s Instagram post, where she shared a black-and-white photo of them. She wrote, “Happy anniversary baby,” to which Urban replied with a heart emoji.
The couple shares two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and it is common to see them together on red carpets for films or music awards. Kidman frequently accompanies Urban on tour as well.
Currently, Urban is on a break from his 2025 High and Alive Tour, which began in May and runs through October. His next performance is scheduled for July 17 in Colorado.
